Presence and Absence

ART-WAA-0001

On one side of the portrait, dense layers of colour and branching lines shape the face, while beside it an almost untouched white space opens up. The faint outline evokes another presence or the memory of a missing part. The artwork explores how our identity is shaped not only by our visible qualities, but also by what remains unspoken or has been lost.
