Boundary of Light

ART-WAA-0002

Night-time blues and sunlit yellows and greens create sharply contrasting moods on either side of the face. Yet the flowing paint makes the boundary between them permeable, while the direct gaze brings them into unity. The portrait embodies an inner wholeness in which light and shadow are no longer adversaries, but complementary forces.
