Guarded Boundaries

ART-WAA-0044

The intensely close face is divided by layers of blue, green and gold, while the two different eyes watch the viewer with alert attention. The vertical streams of paint evoke both a protective wall and a translucent curtain. The portrait expresses that personal boundaries do not necessarily separate us from others: they can create a consciously protected space in which we can connect safely and authentically.
